LE PRINCE DES SABLES

The sand is rising over the city. Three water stones held it back, they are hidden in the palace, and the hourglass gives you twenty minutes to bring them home.

Run and climb

A running jump clears two tiles, a standing jump just one
Up beneath a ledge to grab it, Up again to climb
Down at an edge to hang and lower yourself safely
Down plus an arrow: the careful step, which never falls

The palace

Spikes let a careful step through, not a run
Jaws snap shut at regular intervals
Cracked slabs give way under your feet
Pressure plates open gates, sometimes only briefly
Quicksand slows you down and ends up swallowing you

The sabre

Facing a guard, the sabre comes out by itself
Space strikes, Up parries, arrows step forward and back
A red flask restores a life, a golden flask adds one
Each death costs ten seconds of the hourglass
Your best time stays on your disk 0

The source code is yours

The whole game and its fifteen rooms fit in one BASIC 2026 program. The scenery and characters are drawn images stored on the disk; without them, the program computes its own. The ZIP holds the program, all these images in the machine's format and instructions.
